Stan Turner - Piper and Committee Member

Many years ago, in the 10th Finchley Scouts, Stan learnt to play the pipes. Later in the St. Albans Pipe Band he enjoyed a course of evening piping classes where the great J. B. Robertson was tutor. After the St. Albans band, Stan’s piping was revived when he became a founder member of the Harpenden Pipe Band.

Veronique Corney - Tenor Drummer and Booking Secretary

Veronique joined the band after being 'press-ganged' into joining in about 1998. She learnt to play tenor and flourish (waving sticks about wildly). She is glad she joined and enjoys the band jobs, trips and meeting people but especially enjoys taking the mickey out of the pipers!
